Vice Chancellor's Message

Knowledge and innovation, being complimentary to each other, are twin agents of development in this cyber age, nationally and globally as well. While the centre of economic power is undoubtedly shifting eastwards, India should and must seize every opportunity to emerge as one of the leading global players. Education, if holistic, value- based, affordable to and accessible by all, can bring economic prosperity to the vast majority of under-privileged .Thus, it becomes the most important tool for equitable socio-economic development and empowerment of weaker sections and women in developing economies. State universities with their affiliated colleges have immense responsibility to contribute to this noble cause of nation building. Needless to say, the central government has already laid strong emphasis on making education socially inclusive, accessible and quality- based to achieve the said end.

North Maharashtra University offers a blend of modern, applied, job oriented and conventional courses complimented with the state- of- the- art research facilities, supporting infrastructure and stimulating environment for learning and training. Besides opening the doors of higher education to the marginalized population of the tribal dominated region of the state, the university has already launched an ambitious program, Lab to Land, wherein the target group will be provided training, consultancy and quality inputs for improving productivity and yields in their agricultural land. We strongly believe that research without social justice is incomplete and, therefore, special efforts are being made by this university to channelize our entire time, energy and resources to make research activities on the campus more meaningful.

Under the constructive and continued guidance of His Excellency the Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of NMU Shri. K. Sankaranaraynan, North Maharashtra University is committed to play a pivotal role in bringing about socio-economic transformation in the lives of the teeming population of this region. I reiterate our commitment towards this objective.
