It was established on 1^stAugust 1999. This Department is unique in the field of culture, value education, literature and the study of languages and dialects. The school runs post- graduate courses in Marathi, English and Hindi and from the year 2010-2011 semester system has been introduced. The school has been continuously making efforts to develop language and literary skills of students as well as develop their personality leading them on the path of a bright academic career.

 Due to limited intake number, faculty can pay personal attention to every individual student. Along with central library, the student can avail the facility of departmental library. Students’ Hostel on the lush green campus is conducive to an academic ambience. Various workshops, conferences, research activities, competitions and cultural programmes in the department encourage research attitude and co-curricular practices among students. For better job opportunities for students, the dept. organizes Spoken English Courses, career counseling & campus interviews from last four years.
