The Department of Mathematical Sciences is established in 1991 under the guidance of well known mathematician and Hon'ble Ex Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. K. Thakare. In 1996 it is renamed as the School of Mathematical Sciences including the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Statistics. The Department of Mathematics offered the course of M. Sc. Mathematics (with specialization in Computational Mathematics), whereas the Department of Statistics offered the course of M. Sc. Statistics (with specialization in Industrial Statistics).  In 2007, we have started a one year post graduate diploma in Actuarial Science (PGDAS) also with effect from academic year 2010-11 we have introduced five year integrated dual course B.Sc.+ M.Sc.(Actuarial Science).
