To promote importance of physical fitness amongst the students throught sports and to implement National Sports Policy in the universities, a Sports Department was established in the University on 15th Agugust, 1990. This section is headed by the Director of Sports. Dr. Dinesh Patil. The prime responsibilities of this department are to organize various Inter Collegiate Sports Tournaments, conduct Inter Group Tounaments, & Inter University Sports Tournaments, a gymnasium equipped with modern equipments has been developed in the campus. Sports department is a nodal agency for Sports related activities in the university and affiliated colleges. The women team of our university won the gold medal in All India Inter University Softball tournament, held at Osmaniya University, Hydrabad.
