UICT (University Institute of Chemical Technology) of North Maharashtra University founded in the year 1994 (formerly known as University Department of Chemical Technology), has now established itself as center of academic excellence. Prof. Dr. S. Mishra is heading the Institute. The Institute offers AICTE recognized Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) and Master of Technology (M. Tech.) degree courses and pursues Ph. D. Research Programme in Chemical Engineering and Technology Branches.

These four-year engineering degree courses are conducted with two semesters every year. Admission to these courses is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Govt. of Maharashtra through merit based on score in common entrance test (CET) after HSSC Examination and with minimum eligibility criteria of 50% (PCM) for General and OBC category students and 45% for reserved category students. Students who have passed Diploma in Chem. Engg. & Tech. with at least 60% marks are admitted directly to second year, through Centralized Admission Process.

M. Tech. Programme:

Eligibility Criteria:

Chemical Engineering : B.E/B.Tech Degree in chemical Engineering or Chemical Technology or equivalent.

Polymer Technology: B.E. / B. Tech. in Plastics/ Polymer/ Paints Tech. or equivalent or M. Sc. in Chemistry. The candidates sholid should hold B.Tech. (Plastics/ Paints) or M. Sc. in Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry.

Paints Technology : B.E. / B. Tech. in Plastics/ Polymer/ Paints Tech. or equivalent or M. Sc. in Chemistry. course should hold B.Tech. (Plastics/ Paints) or M. Sc. in Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry.

Pharmaceutical Technology: B. Pharmacy or B. Tech. (Pharmaceuticals), M. Sc. (Drug Chemistry)

Oleochemicals & Surfactants Technology: B.E. / B. Tech. in Oils, Fats & Waxes Tech. or equivalent or M. Sc. in Chemistry

Nano Science & Technology: B.E. / B. Tech. in any Engg. / Tech. Branch or M. Sc. in any Science Branch or B. Pharm.

Food & Fermentation Technology: The candidates applying for M. Tech. (Food and fermentation Tech.).) course should hold B.Tech/B.E. in Food Tech/ Dairy Tech / Biotechnology / Fermentation Tech / Bioprocess Engg. OR MSc in Food Science/ Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry OR Equivalent degree in the above subjects from any recognized university.

NOTE: Degree with minimum of 55% marks in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Technology or equivalent and will have to appear for the written test and interview to be conducted by University

 Ph.D. Programme:

Eligibility: M.Tech.(Chemical Engineering or Technology) for Ph. D. (Engg & Tech.) or M.Sc.(Chemistry) degree for Ph. D in Chemistry. A number of research scholarships are available to the student during his/her Ph.D. work through research project grants and/or University fund.
